WHERE THE FUTURE MEETS THE PRESENT

The library & learning centre (LLC), executed by Zaha Hadid Architects/Hamburg, is the core of the new campus of economic sciences in Vienna

Spiral ramps and staircases take you from the futuristic, sculptural building’s entrance, through the library which spans six floors in the shape of a funnel – and offers space for students studying on their own, service facilities for students and the library itself. The planners decided to use the stainless-steel wire cloth “H&B Detention 7016”, an expressive, contemporary design for a young audience, perfect for the new campus’s trademark: individuality, expressiveness and presence.
