Expanded metal in a different way
The head office of Stadtwerke Amstetten GmbH in Stadtwerkestrasse 2 is the home of the management of the technical departments and repair shops.
Here, work is done every day to find solutions for current challenges and ways for a sustainable communication in the sector electricity and water supply. In the course of a revitalisation of the building in 2022, the elevator system was equipped with new cladding in the shape of expanded metal coating type “Lustenau” made of 1.5-mm-thick aluminium. MetallPox GmbH in Allhartsberg used the same material to create a massive flower planter that decorates the outside of the headquarters. A great example of how diverse ProMetall architecture expanded metal architectural materials can be, if the product encounters creative heads. We are looking forward to future projects.
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut. Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
