Special features

Hundreds of families live in this beautiful place on the former grounds of a Viennese brewery, with a special view of Vienna’s South.

LUXURIOUS LIVING WHERE BEER USED TO FLOW

In Vienna-Liesing DELUGAN MEISSL ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS created a futuristic “urban snake” with 600 flats on the grounds of a former brewery, perfectly adjusted to the plot’s shape and topography.

The so-called “air floor“ on the fourth floor, permeating all three construction units, is the building’s most striking characteristic. Stretching over 500 metres, the residential complex is horizontally slashed in the middle and lifted to create views and additional open spaces. The project is generally arranged on communal areas in open space and encourages its tenants to use them. People do not need to leave their flats to enjoy a beautiful view of Vienna’s green South thanks to the spacious terraces and balcony panels made of powder-coated, white perforated metal sheets.

PERFORATED METAL SHEET – a new take on a classic

Perforated metal sheets have been produced in Europe since the late 19th century. In the past, perforated metal sheets were mainly used as sieve and filter elements and as protective plates in industry and machine construction. Creative designers and Western European product experts found new applications for the functional metal sheet – in the form of innovative designs for façade construction. Perforated metal sheets are popular for visual protection of façades in modern residential, hotel and office complexes and are often used for staircases and balconies. Nevertheless, perforated metal sheet has retained its practical character in the design sector and is also used as sound insulation in building construction. Advantages, applications robust material, combines functionality with attractive looks, façade design in transparent look, to visual protection, staircase and balcony railings, suspended metal ceilings, ventilation technology, insect screens in residential buildings, sound insulation.
