HOLLYWOOD MEETS LINZ

In 2016 Plus City was expanded in the course of a 6th building phase. The old parking deck was torn down and expanded by a new mall.

The building was expanded by an underground car park, a cinema and 70 new shops and restaurants. The new structure was also enriched by a monumental cupola in a special diamond construction whereby three types of expanded metal (Amstetten/ Woergl/ Salzburg) were combined into a new design. The colour concept white, cream and black in combination with gold is based on Plus City’s logo and reflected in the entire shopping centre. Specific materials, such as yellow granite, aluminium in C2 anodisation, glass with a special coating and geometric structures were created for the centre’s corporate design and are present throughout the massive building. Bright rooms, full of light, are arranged in a spacious layout and ensure a memorable shopping experience.

EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant

Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut. Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
