DONAUZENTRUM SPARKLES IN EXPANDED METAL PANELS WITH SPECIAL MEASUREMENTS
In 2019 the part of Donauzentrum known as ”Donauplex“ was extensively modernised and equipped with new hip restaurants.
The restaurant area on level 1 called “The Kitchen” impresses visitors with its wonderful culinary variety, its industrial style design, Schanigarten (garden) and its trendy light concept.
The exterior look was also modernised and visually improved. The newly designed, innovative façade with its impressive LED light installation is an absolute eye-catcher. ProMetall produced the expanded metal type “Samobor“ in 2mm aluminium with a special measurement for this project. Due to the narrow timeframe, all further processing, i.e. welding into angular aluminium frames, the fastening boreholes and RAL-powder coating in special colour NCS7005-y50r presented additional challenges. Nevertheless, ProMetall delivered in a timely and precise fashion, ensuring smooth installation without any problems. The centre was opened in its new attire and in a new light, and we are delighted about another satisfied customer.
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut.
Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
