3 successful practical examples
Large-scale expanded metal façades create impressive design opportunities – and make huge demands to planning, choice of material and implementation. Dimensional accuracy, adjusted delivery and the large-scale effect require experience, precision and experienced cooperation of everyone involved.
1. Primary school Bukovac
The EU-funded school project boasts 9,000 m² expanded metal – Croatia’s largest expanded-metal façade and at the same time the largest expanded metal façade ProMetall has ever realised. The elements were delivered over the course of several months, exactly manoeuvred and adjusted to the construction progress.
2. Shopping centre Fischapark, Wiener Neustadt
Austria’s largest expanded-metal façade was created in Wiener Neustadt, in close collaboration with architects and façade manufacturers. 5,000 m² of aluminium expanded metal were installed in two directions according to a precisely adjusted pattern. This particular arrangement gives the massive building a lively effect with significant recognition effect.
3. Cultural centre Eisenstadt
The 4,000m² expanded metal shell brings movement into the façade: depending on daylight, the surface appears silver or gold. The striking building creates an exciting contrast to the historic city centre and shows how modern façade design can be integrated into existing structures – without dominating them.
