INTELLIGENT ARCHITECTURE FOR FUTURE BUSINESS MANAGERS
In 2013 the new campus WU was created: a unique university building with approx. 100,000 m2 floor space where 25,000 students and 1,500 employees work, study, research and teach under perfect conditions.
The campus was designed by various international star architects and built by various construction experts on the basis of a sustainable “Green Building” concept. The structure “W1D” is part of a state-of-the-art, expansive campus area, equipped by ProMetall with just under 2,000 different stamped components, incl. high-tech edges. The façade specialist took care of machine and manual finishing and completed the innovative building for future business managers with swivelling perforated-metal-sheet slats, allowing productive work even under intense sunlight.
PERFORATED METAL SHEET – a new take on a classic
Perforated metal sheets have been produced in Europe since the late 19th century. In the past, perforated metal sheets were mainly used as sieve and filter elements and as protective plates in industry and machine construction. Creative designers and Western European product experts found new applications for the functional metal sheet – in the form of innovative designs for façade construction. Perforated metal sheets are popular for visual protection of façades in modern residential, hotel and office complexes and are often used for staircases and balconies. Nevertheless, perforated metal sheet has retained its practical character in the design sector and is also used as sound insulation in building construction.
