The approx. 19,000 m2 shopping centre Donaupark Mauthausen has served a catchment area of 120,000 inhabitants since 1990.
As a result of several expansions, Donaupark is considered the biggest shopping centre between Linz and Amstetten. In 2018, a considerable amount of money was spent to make shopping in the Upper Austrian shopping oasis even more modern and comfortable. The spacious new portals promise a modern and stylish shopping experience in more than 50 shops from 14 different sectors, including international and Austrian brands, inviting cafes and cosy rest areas. A covered passage connects the shopping centre’s individual areas and allows visitors to stroll from one mall to the next, protected from rain and wind.
ProMetall made an aesthetic contribution to the new rebuild with its expanded metal panels type “Schwechat”, aluminium 2mm, incl. angular frame 60x30x3 and RAL-9007 coating, supplied ready for installation. 660 m2 of expanded metal provide the background for the modern façade and upgrade the shopping mile’s look, making it literally light up in a new glow.
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut.
Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
