The Pension Insurance Institution (PVA) is Austria’s biggest pension insurance provider.
Two years ago, the existing administration building at Handelskai was revitalised and ProMetall was commissioned to cover the new technical installations on the roof with sophisticated architectural cladding to retain the building’s attractive look. Elements in expanded metal type “Ansfelden“ in grey-white (RAL 9002) were chosen for the project. They were produced down to the smallest detail in the ProMetall factory so that all the metal manufacturer had to do at the construction site after delivery was to connect them with the existing supporting structure. A company’s quality reveals itself in the technical implementation of company seats as well as in their architectural implementation and visual integration into the landscape. Design instead of average always pays off!
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut. Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
