The new KAERNTNEREI building was created in accordance with plans by the architects Weingraber & Prohart and is a top-modern, trendy building that draws attention even from a distance thanks to its semi-transparent façade design. Nevertheless, the building connects traditional and modern aspects. The former steel support structure of the original building provides the culinary delight rooms with a sales area totalling 430 m² with a charming post-industrial touch. The atmosphere in KAERNTNEREI’s inner rooms is stylish and authentic. You are made aware of traditional craft blending with innovative Zeitgeist.
A HIP BAKER SELLING COLD MEATS AND CHEESE
In April 2021, following a construction phase of only seven months, Kaerntnerei, opened a delicious and innovative project carried out jointly by Wienerroither, Frierss und Kaslabn.
The new company building was designed in accordance with plans by the architects Weingraber & Prohart and is a hip culinary establishment with a sales area totalling 430 m2. The new semi-transparent façade design made of 2mm powder-coated aluminium expanded metal type “Karlovac” draws attention even from a distance and attracts bread and strudel fans and many others, as the culinary delight rooms offer hearty delicacies such as ham and cheese. ProMetall supplied the rust-coloured expanded metal panels that provide the original building’s steel support structure with a charming post-industrial touch which continues in the inner rooms with modern sales areas and cosy, trendy furniture. A successful concept that attracts different generations, as you become aware of traditional trade blending with innovative Zeitgeist.
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut. Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
