The perfect addition: take the 3-dimensional ProMetall product and optimise it via a display of colours and installation creativity.
GREEN ASCENT AND DESCENT RIGHT IN THE VILLAGE
The SPAR branch conversion in Pottendorf was a challenge, as far as the façade was concerned.
The goal was to give the supermarket a completely new look without replacing the original façade which was a standard construction of insulated steel sheet panels. The planners suggested steel sheet panels (expanded metals made of aluminium, thickness 2mm) which are exceptionally light and can therefore be attached directly to the existing outer skin. The decision to use colour and movement for the façade surface was intended to prevent a monotonous look. The use of a three-dimensional ProMetall product, optimised via a display of colours and installation creativity, resulted in a visual landscape of mountains and valleys. The façade changes depending on the light, thus giving the impression of three-dimensionality. Thanks to the perfect cooperation between planner, metal manufacturer and product supplier, the supermarket with its new “façade” was opened on schedule before Christmas.
EXPANDED METALS – practical and elegant
Expanded metals and expanded grates are made of a single piece of metal to ensure there are no strands causing wear and tear and no weighed-down connections or welding seams. As a result, the sustainable, robust material exhibits significant strength and surface stability which makes it ideal for use in façade design. Various materials can be used, the mesh is generally diagonal, hexagonal, round or square, neither twisted nor welded. Depending on the type, various effects are possible. The material retains its inner stability even when it is cut. Due to their 3-dimensional character, façades made of expanded metal turn into “eye catchers”.
