SPAR group has been one of Austria’s most open-minded developers of innovative and visually challenging architecture for almost 20 years.
Austria’s top retail group believes in state-of-the-art metal façades made of expanded metals or individualised perforated metal sheets by ProMetall, and therefore stands out from the competition. In 2017 ProMetall was given the opportunity to give the Eurospar branch in Zeltweg a new look via cooperation with Austrian architects and metal manufacturers. The new look emphasises the building’s attractive appearance and innovative and environmentally friendly technology. Powder-coated, 2mm thick perforated metal sheets from the “Bubbles“ series convey lightness and playful elegance to the impressive building, thus creating a very appealing effect. Customers find themselves in the mood for shopping before even entering the shop and the purpose of the architectonic task is flawlessly fulfilled.
PERFORATED METAL - A CLASSIC WITH A NEW COATING
Perforated metal sheets have been produced in Europe since the late 19th century. In the past, perforated metal sheets were mainly used as sieve and filter elements and as protective plates in industry and machine construction. Creative designers and Western European product experts found new applications for the functional metal sheet – in the form of innovative designs for façade construction. Perforated metal sheets are popular for visual protection of façades in modern residential, hotel and office complexes and are often used for staircases and balconies. Nevertheless, perforated metal sheet has retained its practical character in the design sector and is also used as sound insulation in building construction.
